Fuse & Elevate Event- SNOW DAY 2.6.2010

Hey everyone, just a few details regarding our upcoming event “Snow Day” PLEASE FIND THE SECTION BELOW THAT IS IN CAPITALS AND BOLDED WHERE A REPLY/COMMENT FROM YOU IS REQUESTED.

• This event is for both Fuse & Elevate
• It is an outreach event and we will be encouraging students to bring friends.
• The cost for the event is $25. The price includes transportation (we are taking a charter bus), fees to get into snow play area, discs to slide on, and dinner (pizza) on the way home.
• Everyone needs to bring a sack lunch for themselves. We will provide bottled water to everyone.
• Leader cost is covered so leaders if you are coming you will only need to bring a lunch with you (same as kids) and extra spending # if you prefer.
• We will be leaving @ 7:30am from Higley high School (leaders arrive @ 7am) and will be returning at 7:30pm to the high school.

Here is our sample itinerary for the event:

7:00 AM:                     Meet at Higley

7:30:                            Depart

10:30:                          Arrive at Wing Mountain

10:30-11:00:                Change into snow clothing

Lunch

Snow Play

3:00:                            Pack up and change back out of snow clothing

3:30:                            Depart (Wing Mountain closes at 4:00)

4:00:                            Pizza Hut

4:30:                           Depart Pizza Hut

7:30 PM:                     Arrive at Higley

Well…camp is underway!  Please continue to be in prayer for the leaders and students at camp this week….God always does amazing things! I am looking forward to hearing all of the “Yay God”s!

On May 31st we will be combining Route56 & Building78 for service as it is “Graduation Sunday”.

It will be an exciting service as we worship, have some great relational time, and send our students off into the summer.

The service has some changes so make sure you read it over so you are prepared for service.

SUPER SUPER IMPORTANT-the information below is CRITICAL for service!!

1) We have a game time planned during our service this week May 24th. As I stated at our team gathering I am super strapped on time this week due to scheduling. So with that said here is the deal: I need someone to take the lead in the game. That means I need someone to plan a game, get it together, and run it on Sunday (or you can get someone else to run it if you are not comfortable doing that).  IF NO ONE TAKES THE LEAD ON THIS THEN WE WILL NOT HAVE A GAME ON SUNDAY AND WE WILL HAVE TO FIGURE OUT SUNDAY MORNING WHAT TO DO DURING THAT TIME.

If you need any help I am willing to help you as I have lots of game resources and I can discuss it with you if you need me to.

2) The next two Sundays: May 24 and May 31 we will be having “food and drinks” at service. In order to not have one person be responsible for it all I would like for us all to participate and do it “potluck” style. That means that each leader(s) bring something. I will be sending an email out requesting for you to sign up on each date and to list what you will be bringing. Remember to keep it simple (cookies, donuts, chips, pretzels, brownies, etc) and don’t forget about drinks.

Hey everyone, here is the agenda for May 17, 2009 in Building78.

This week we will be wrapping up our “Scarred” series. Pastor Chip will be presenting this week and he will have s special guest joining him to share a personal “Scar story” and how God healed him and used his story for others.

Our students (and you leaders should do it also) will have an awesome opportunity to complete a letter to God during the message that will be a strong ending to this series on pain.

Our focus this week will be to Be Relational.

We want to really focus on trying to get to know some students and having brief conversations with them to make them feel welcome and safe in Building78.

This Sunday is Mother’s Day! =) Just a little reminder in case you forgot.

We will be continuing our series “Scarred” this week and Ann Landis will be presenting.

I want to encourage us to be in prayer for our students and their families as I know there are students with pain in their life right now and are seeking healing. It is our blessing to have the opportunity to let them know that God never allows a hurt to go wasted.

Building78 Agenda for May 3, 2009

Hello to you crazy people that have decided to lead jr. high students. =)

This week we will be starting a three week series called; Scarred – Preparing for the hurt in life.

You can’t avoid pain in life. So how do you deal with pain when it happens? How do you manage and heal from the wounds life inflicts? And how can God take your pain and use it to make beauty? How do you “Prepare for the Hurt in Life”.

All of our students have pain in their lives in one form or another. Whether that is physical, mental, emotional, relational, or spiritual they all are dealing with things in their lives that cause hurt and can leave scars.

During the series we as the leaders God has placed in their path will walk along side our students to help them recoginze their pain, how to deal with it, and ultimately how God can take their hurt and turn it into something amazing.

Please be praying over this series as I am not sure where God will take it but I want you all to be ready to have God use you to minister to any student that is hurting and be the tangible example to them of how God Heals.

Route56 & Building78 Agenda for april 26,2009

Hey everyone, this week we are combining the two ministries. The reason for this is we will be launching “Ministry on Zero”. Bascially, what that means is that the students through their tithes/offerings will be financially supporting the ministry that they are in. Here is how it breaks down. 10% will be tithed back to RPC, 10% will go to a local organization that we will get invloved with and also do service projects with, and the remaining 80% is what we the ministry will run on. Pastor Josh has already launched this with the high school ministry and it is going well. He will be presenting this week along with me.

I am very excited for this so please be praying that God will guide us and may students come to understand the impact that tithing can have in their own lives and the lives of others.

Also I will be talking in more detail with the students about both summer camps, graduation & promotion, and the overall plan for summer.

We also have baptisms this Sunday and I know we have some students and families that are getting baptized. AMEN!!!

I am excited to see all of you on Sunday. Let me know if you need anything.

Ministry Calendar Updates for both Route56 & Building78

Here are some important updates to our ministry calendar. Hopefully all of you still have the calendars I provided awhile back and actually have glanced at them form time to time. I want to apologize to all of you for being behind in my communication of changes to our calendar as I know that impacts your planning and also your ability to communicate to students and parents. So again I am sorry. Please take a look at the changes below, make note of the dates, and let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Okay here are the updates to our calendar.

April 2009

• Saturday the 25th- All ministry events are CANCELED
• Sunday the 26th- Baptisms @ 3pm
• Sunday the 26th- Route56 & Building78 parent meeting for summer camps. During halftime in Route56 room.

May 2009

• Sunday May 3rd- Route56 & Building78 Team Summit Gathering. After second service (around 1 or so) until about 3:30 @ the Nichols Home. Lunch will be provided and you may bring your kids if you need to. This will be a super important gathering as we will cover; ministry on zero, summer camps, summer schedules (vacations, events, etc), relationships, and have fun being together.PLEASE RSVP TO THIS SO I CAN PLAN ACCORDINGLY!!

• Saturday May 9th- Route56 Promotion event is CANCELED
• May 15th-17th- Men’s Retreat (If you will be attending this event please let me know so I can plan accordingly)
• Saturday May 16th- Building78 Promotion event is CANCELED
• Sunday May 31st- Graduation Sunday- this is the last Sunday that students will be in their current ministry.

June 2009

• June 7th- Promotion Sunday- This is the first Sunday that students will be in their new ministry. Current 4th graders into Route56, current 6th graders in Building78, current 8th graders into Ignite.
• June 8-13- Building78 summer camp in Big Bear, CA

• June 21-26- Route56 Summer Camp in Prescott, AZ

Building78 Agenda for April 19, 2009

Hey leaders, I pray this week has been going awesome for all of you and your families.

What an amazing Easter weekend it was. I was blown away by the number of students we had and the positive response to our service from both the students and parents. All of you were a part of making it happen as you allowed yourself to be transparent and to let the Holy Spirit work through you.

This week we will be having a guest speaker our high school Pastor Josh Mallery.

Also we will be finally announcing our summer camp to the students.

I will not be at service on Sunday as I will be guest speaking in the junior high ministry at Sun Valley Community Church. Ann Landis will in charge that day so please refer to her that morning for any questions you may have.

One last thing: Cassie our worship leader is having her baby soon so this Sunday will be her last week for awhile so I would love it if all of us told her how much we appreciate her leading worship, the amazing job she has done, and what a blessing it is to have worship on a regular basis.
